Have you ever been alone in a room and felt like someone else was there? Maybe a ghost? This feeling is referred to as “feeling of a presence” or FoP. And scientists say it is caused by a confusion in your brain. It is not uncommon to find these sensations in patients with epilepsy, stroke, migraines or tumors.
Researchers have built a robot that pokes a person in the back and sends mixed signals to the brain which creates the same “ghostly” feelings. In a study, two of the participants were so freaked out they wanted to stop the experiment! Read more at IFL Science.
